  4. Social media as a medium to deal with negative emotions- Some individuals might use social media as a coping strategy or means of distraction during times of increased stress. However, this excessive engagement with these platforms often comes at the cost of productivity and withdrawal from their personal and social lives, which can maintain or even worsen the mental health issues that they may be facing.
